An intensive mentorship program designed for hockey players to help them improve their game through film review, goal setting, development road maps, feedback, academic review, combine testing, and character and psychological testing. Athletes in this program are pushed to excel mentally, emotionally, physically, and as young men and women of outstanding character.
Film Review Sessions
We provide two film review sessions per year. Each film review session is derived from the Fortis mentor reviewing two hours of game film and providing feedback to the athlete over an online or in-person meeting.
Character and Psych Evaluation
Used with professional teams and major corporations to assess attributes like resiliency, athletes will answer a series of surveys throughout the year. Feedback will be provided to the parents and players.
Athletes will participate in a 30-minute testing session at The Fortis Academy. The tests will include the 20-yard dash, 40-yard dash, vertical jump, skater jump, and pull ups.
Interpersonal Skills Coaching
Whether your athlete is working with a high school coach or fielding calls from scouts and college coaches, we will put them through mock interviews to help them prepare when the time comes.
Training Advice and Plan
Athletes will sit down with our coaching staff to go over recommendations for training. These recommendations will include not only our training programs but also those that other coaches in the area offer that we feel can provide athletes a tangible benefit.
Each year we will sit down with your athlete to set goals. Goals will be set in the following areas: hockey (tactical/skill), athleticism (speed/strength/mobility), academic, and family.
Scouting Report and Feedback
Athletes will receive feedback that our staff compiles from area scouts and coaches.
Signal vs. Noise
Our staff will help you and your family distinguish between genuine exposure opportunities and those that are unnecessary and possibly counter-productive.
Hockey Development Roadmap Meeting
This meeting will be a culmination of all of the above with the player and family to review.
